DevOps Senior Engineer (full WFH)

Position status: Consultant level since thecompany is offshore based)

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our company as the senior member of our PH team, working with expats on a global level with more seniority and alongside members of the development team.

You will use your knowledge to implement new ideas, upgrade existing systems or troubleshoot upcoming issues by using lots of open-source tools to ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.

You will be working with our hybrid AWS cloud/local server environment on both Windows and Linux including Docker containers, S3, CloudFront, EC2 machines, and databases among other related technologies to ensure that our in-house software is hosted on a platform that the business can rely on.

You will also set up and maintain our VPNs, Firewalls, and network routes and deploy any necessary scripts with various infrastructure scripting solutions such as Bash, Python, and Terraform.

You will also be helping to troubleshoot issues using tools like Wireshark and tcpdump as required to support the team and to aid in suitable systems designs as the company evolves.

And, of course, you will be expected to document your work for future reference.

Priority points in looking for the position:

1. Worked as system adminstrator on Linux and Windows scripting

2. Experience (Bash, Python or Terraform etc.)

3. Has working experience with AWS ecosystem

4. Networking principles (VPNs, routing, firewalls, tracing)

5. Infrastructure monitoring (e.g. Grafana, Graylog)

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or Software Eng or IT or equivalent experience

2. Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions such as Bash or Python

3. Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in a high-availability fail-over service architecture

4. Excellent skills both oral and written communication

5. Good knowledge of Networking principles (VPNs, routing, firewalling, packet tracing)

6. Problem-solving and troubleshooting

Work From Home set-up

Working Days: Monday to Friday

Time: 4:00pm to 11:55pm Philippine time

Initially WFH set-up then transition to Hybrid at BGC office

WFH: candidate will RDP into cloud based workstations, from personal machine.

BGC office: Candidate will have access to company's thin terminals to work on company's cloud based workstations.

Salary: Php150,000.00 - Php250,000.00 per month
