Database Developer

What You’ll Be Doing

• Write SQL queries and stored procedures that are performant and secure.

• Design and create reliable and effective database schema.

• Perform complex query and database tuning.

• Analyze, solve and correct issues in the database across all environments. Identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures.

• Gather and communicate database performance metrics.

• Ensure that all database schema and queries are under version control.

Qualities We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related majors

• At least 3 years experience in MSSQL 2012+, MySQL 5.0+, or working with big data (Data Engineer and up).

• Able to write complex and efficient stored procedures.

• Experience in backup, restore and recovery methods.

• Must have experience in production setup and deployment of databases.

• Experience with agile and git

• Knowledge of Windows OS.

• Loves helping people and solving problems.

• Good communication skills.

• Always eager to learn. You need to be tuned in to changes in security trends, new databases, automation tools and so on.

• Knowledge in state-based and/or migration-based database versioning preferred, but not required.

• Exposure to BI reporting tools such as Tableau, Pentaho, Jasper Reports, SpagoBI, Knowage preferred, but not required.

• Past experience in the banking and financial services industry is preferred, but not required.
