Mechanical Design Engineer (Product)

Position level: Junior/ Senior 

* Candidates must have hands on product design experience & plastic injection molding experience, packaging design is an added advantage for this role

• Lead or participate in the development of product specifications, technical purchasing of materials and implementation of platform projects and facelifts of existing products.
• Develop packaging/product design, select packaging/product materials, and verify packaging/product performance with appropriate test methods and tools/simulations.
• Devise CAD design for packaging and components/assemblies to support product development.
• Verify packaging & product design components/assemblies in 3D CAD utilizing appropriate analysing tools.
• Familiar with product and packaging standards and establish product/packaging requirements for newly designed product/packaging and its document.
• Participate in prototype build for proof of concepts related to product/packaging design.
• Document all activities according to Design Control SOP.
• Work closely with process development and production team to ensure design for manufacturing in all product development projects.
• Participate in cost reduction activities and tools/jigs design.
• Participate and lead in CAPA issue resolution & customer focus activities.
• Review and approve documents and deviations in projects.
• Ensure that the developed products are reproducible with high quality in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Carry out projects/activities in a way that it meets or exceeds expectations and requirements in the organisation and external regulations. 
• In projects the position holder is responsible for follow-up on and report the use of resources. And inform and involve relevant stakeholders in the organisation worldwide.
• Activities are documented and handover in a way that other function can easily use the build-up know-how in their work.
• Meet or exceed expectations on the areas of schedule, quality, budget for product development activities.
• Develop product packaging designs that are innovative, high quality and cost effective that meet the stakeholders’ requirements. 
• Support and encourage co-operation across global Innovation Organisation. The purpose is to increase company’s knowledge and competence inside technical areas we work with and ensure it is documented in a professional manner.
• Ensure the R&D documentation meets the requirement described in the compnay’s quality system and of relevant authorities before transfer to operation.
• Carrying through projects in a fast and effective way, but in respect for other ongoing projects, so all projects are carried out in a well-coordinated way.
• Follow procedure and tools as described and continuously give input for improvement.
• Guide less experienced engineers in the technical area of expertise.

Requirements:

• Masters / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Electro-Mechanical/ Polymer or any relevant
• Proficient in written & spoken English at negotiation level.
• Work independently, structured & systematic. Able to work in a cross-cultural team.
• Passionate about new technologies.
• Willing to share knowledge and experiences
• See it as a challenge to work in a dynamic international environment.
• Understand documentation work is part of work nature in product development.
• Must have a sense of urgency and commitment to task schedules.  
• An added advantage if you have relevant experience from the Medical Device industry including FDA requirements to Design Control, ISO 9001 and ISO13485
